What to Expect with IV Sedation
Before Your Appointment
You’ll receive pre-sedation instructions, including guidelines on eating and drinking. Arrange for someone to drive you home, as you won’t be able to drive for the rest of the day.
During Your Procedure
A small IV line is placed in your arm, and medication is administered gradually. You’ll feel deeply relaxed and calm, with little awareness of the procedure taking place. Our team monitors your vitals closely to ensure your safety throughout.
After Your Appointment
You’ll rest in our office until you’re ready to leave. Most patients feel groggy for a few hours, so plan to rest at home for the remainder of the day. Someone will need to drive you home and stay with you until the sedation fully wears off.
